Dr Imogen Bury

Imogen and her husband Hamish are the founders of the newly established Malmesbury Dental & Specialist Referral Centre, created from a long-held ambition to bring high-quality, advanced dental care to our rural community. Having grown up on a farm, Imogen values the importance of community, accessibility, and delivering a personal, patient-focused service. She is proud to offer something truly special to the area—modern, specialist-led dentistry in a welcoming and familiar environment.

Following her graduation in Dentistry from the University of Bristol Dental Hospital in 2012, she has built extensive experience across both general practice and hospital settings. She spent a year as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Gloucester Royal Hospital before returning to Bristol Dental Hospital, where she taught undergraduate students and led a large research project investigating the prevalence of periodontal (gum) disease in the South West of England.

In September 2021, Imogen completed her specialist training in Periodontology at Guy’s Dental Hospital, achieving a distinction in the rigorous four-year programme. Her advanced training enables her to provide a full spectrum of periodontal treatments, from routine care to complex surgical procedures tailored to individual patient needs. Her skills include non-surgical and surgical management of gum disease, bone preservation and regeneration techniques, and treatment of gum recession.

Imogen collaborates with colleagues on complex multidisciplinary cases and supports fellow dental professionals with specialist periodontal advice and education. She regularly delivers teaching sessions and is committed to lifelong learning, attending conferences and courses throughout the year. Imogen is an active member of the British Society of Periodontology and regularly hosts online webinars featuring leading periodontal professionals from around the world.

Imogen and her team welcome all patients with a non-judgmental, compassionate approach, understanding that visiting the dentist can feel daunting for many. She is committed to creating a supportive environment where every patient feels listened to and cared for, and she strives to help everyone achieve and maintain optimal oral health, whatever their starting point.

Outside of dentistry, Imogen enjoys spending time with her husband and young family, playing sports, and keeping busy with home projects and the day-to-day joys of family life. She can often be seen around town with her double buggy and two beautiful young daughters in tow.
